While browsing through some old records in the Berkeley County, West Virginia, Court House at Martinsburg, the author noticed a name that sounded familiar. The name was spelled "Woolam" and the record was the will of one Jacob Woolam, who made the paper in April, 13, 1778. He named his wife Magdelina and the names of his children. (Will Book 1. pp. 150. )

3. Peter Woolam, of whom later.
4. Wendle Woolam
5. Shem Woolam, who was living in the Tenmile Country in 1790. He was in Captain William Crawford's Company in 1793.

8. Jacob Woolam, youngest son.
9. Juliana Woolam, wife of Jacob Shillengood
10. Magdelina Woolam, wife of John Morrisey
