Hugh Scott I do certify that Patrick Bermigan a soldier of the 2nd Virginia Regt.-was in the action of '96 in So Carolina, where he received two wounds, one in his body and the other broke his wrist, both by marguch? balls-given under and in my hand this 27th day of October 1788. William Eskridge Late Lieut 2nd Virginia Regt. I do, with the advice of council, hereby certify that Patrick Birmingham, alias Bermigan of Berkeley aged --years of age, late a co?? in the 2nd Virg Regt whose pay was at the rate of 24 pounds per annum was disabled in the service of The United States by a shot wound in his body and another in his wrist, and he is allowed the sum of fourteen pounds yearly; which allowance accordingly made him, to commence on the first day of January 1786.
