I am of opinion that the weakness produced by the wound renders him unable to procure a living by labor and that he is a proper object to stand upon the list of pensioners, given under my hand this 19th day April 1787. Chetzlow Greer The within George Black was a private soldier in the 12th Virginia Regimen and was wounded at the Battle of Brandywine as I commanded that regiment at that time. I perfectly can attest that his thigh was broken by a musguit ball, and that he fell into the hands of the enemy where he remained a pensioner for a considerable time. James Wood. Cmdr. ? Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia , at Richmond is this 1st day of July 1788. Edm: Randolph Copy teste: Thos. Meriwether
