March 18/56 JOSEPH JOHNSON Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these Presents shall come---GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the twentyfifth day of October one thousand eight hundred and fifty two by virtue of Land & 20,487 there is granted by & ASA COGER, a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing ninety acres lying in Braxton County on Shrieves run, a branch of Little Kanawha river and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a beech and white oak near a line of a survey made for Thomas M. Byrne, running thence S.65.W. crossing Shrieve's run 44 poles to a beech on the side of a hill. South 25 poles to a beech S.24 degrees E.96 poles to a beech S.2.W.63 poles to a black oak near the top of the hill. S.65 degrees E.90 poles to two beeches on the bank of a drain N.55 degrees E.52 poles, crossing Shrieves river, to a black oak and two white oak saplings N.30 degrees W.64 poles to a poplar and white oak on the bank of a drain N.60.W.45 poles to a beech and white oak N.25.W.130 poles to the beginning, with its appurtenances.
