Frederick H. Gerwig, 89, of Exchange, W.Va., died May 1, 2007, at his home.
He was the son of the late Luther and Mary Ethel Utt Gerwig. He was also 
preceded in death by one son, Charles; one brother, Glen Gerwig; one sister, 
Gavonnah Loyd Westfall; and one grandson, Carl Dodrill III.
He was a Christian by faith and an auto body repairman.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Avis Shaver Gerwig; two sons, Gary 
Gerwig of Exchange, W.Va., and Mark Gerwig of Gassaway, W.Va., and three 
daughters, Connie Dodrill of Malta, Ohio, Brenda Jarvis of Sutton, W.Va., and 
Carol Wallace of Belpre, Ohio. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 13 
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Greene-Robertson 
Funeral Home, Sutton, W.Va., with the Rev. Bill Carr officiating. Burial will 
be in the Frederick Gerwig Memorial Cemetery, Toms Run, near Exchange, W.Va.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are by Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, W.Va. 




Additional Comments:
Fred was a 'picker' and with friends often entertained at the Utt Family 
reunion.
