This deed made this 25th day of January Eighteen hundred and seventy 
two between Demanda Cheek, Morton Cheek & Broades Cheek heirs of Austin
Cheek decd of the first part and Jas. C. Whitsett of the second part 
all of Brooke County & State of West Virginia..  Witnesseth that the 
said parties of the first part do grant unto the said party of the 
second part all of their right title and interest in deed to the 
following property. To wit certain lots of land with the appurtenances 
thereon situated in the Town of Bethany County and State aforesaid and 
marked on the plot of said town Nos (101 & 102) lying on the north side
of Richardson Street and containing by measurement (14,400) square feet
that is an area of 120 feet in front by 120 ft back being the same 
property conveyed by Aaron Hedges and Ann Hedges his wife to the heirs 
of Austin Cheek decd / see deed dated January 13th 1872.  

In trust to secure to J. E. Curtis the payment of a certain note dated 
Jany 11th 1872 for ($188.48) one hundred and eighty eight 48/100 payable
six months after date and bearing interest from date and signed by the 
said parties of the first part said note being part of the purchase money
for the property hereby conveyed this deed is to be executed according to
the laws of the state of West Virginia.  Witness the following signatures
and seals the day and year first above written.

Co., W. Va. do certify that Demanda Cheek, Morten Cheek and Broades
Cheek whose names are signed to the above deed bearing date Jany 25th.
Acknowledged the same before me in my Township aforesaid.  
Given under my hand this 25th day of Jany AD1872.
