Dr. Kirkpatrick was well known in educational circles, having been on the faculty of Bethany College for many years, and at various times he served as visiting professor at West Virginia University, Columbia University, New York University, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Pittsburgh. He was a retired United Methodist Minister serving 31 years. A resident of Follansbee, he was the son of the late Archie J. and Rozaily Sherwood Randolph. He was a Navy veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Wintersville United Methodist Church of Ohio.
