After taking up temporary residence at their summer home, (The Mirador), in
Holderness, New Hampshire, Fred and Esther Edwards moved into this sixteen room
estate overlooking the Ohio River. The house which originally stood on this
property was built in 1840. When Fred bought the home, he had it torn down with
the exception of foundation and walls, which were of native stone from the Ohio
hills. The stones from the basement were used in the walls that suppored the
gate at the entrance to Journey's End.
