Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these Presents shall come---GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the twenty seventh day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty nine, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant, No. 17492, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Abner Stout, a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing fifty acres, lying and being in Doddridge County, on the waters of Red Lick run, a branch of the Meat house fork of Middle Island creek, & bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at a white oak and gum on a line of said Stouts; Thence S.40.E.70 poles to a stone and pointers S.40 1/2.W.64 poles to a black oak sapling, N.60.W.30 poles to a chestnut oak. S.30.W.45 poles to a maple in Eli Davis's line and with said line N.60.W.48 poles to a white oak, said Davis's corner, and with George I. Davis's line N.11.E.37 poles to a white oak said Stout's corner, and Thence with his line N.50.E.105 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Abner Stout and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said John B.
