Copied August 1997 (Jenkins Cemetery Above and Notes Below) Janet Martin The following is from Edna Huddleston Clark who did some research on the Huddleston family around 1938. She writes-To Nancy Martin and Isaac Jenkins were born three children. One died in infancy, on daughter, Rachel died 1825. She was the first to be buried in the cemetery on a hill overlooking Deepwater Depot. The cemetery is named for her.  Eldest daughter (note: Margaret) of Isaac and Nancy Jenkins married Cary Tinsley Boatwright in 1825. Isaac and Nacy Jenkins and two children, Marguerite Boatwright and Rachel Jenkins are buried at Deepwater, WV. Directions: Rt 61 going east from Montgomery, you will drive the small communites of Cresent, Eagle, Mt. Carbon and Montgomery Heights. You will come into a very sharp turn to the right on Rt. 61 at Deep Water. You will make a left hand turn at the beginning of this turn onto a road marked 61/29 Boonesborough. Follow this paved road  around .3 miles and you will see a cement and rock wall on your right. There will be a driveway just past this wall on the right, that looks like a dirt road. The cemetery sits at the beginning of this driveway  on the hillside. It can be seen from the road.  There are a lot of graves marked with rocks and sunk in areas. Part of the cemetery is kept mowed. The driveway belongs to Carol Atha who was kind enough to let me park there.
