The cemetery got its name from the Wiseman family, who once owned the property where the cemetery now lies. Directions--Mount Olive is located approximately five minutes from where Fayette, Nicholas, and Clay counties meet (Dixie). Depending on where the person is coming from, the cemetery is on the opposite side of the state penitentiary. The cemetery is ten miles from the town of Montgomery and ten miles from the town of Gauley Bridge. Difficulty--The cemetery is not difficult to get to. Those interested in visiting can drive up the dirt road during the spring and summer. For autumn or winter, it is best to park at the bottom of the dirt road and walk up. Gate #1 1. Carmie F.
