Stout This Indenture may the 23rd day of Aug___ in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight between Hezekiah Stout of the County of Gilmer & State of Virginia of the one part & Wm. Stout of the County of Gilmer & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said H. Stout for and inconsideration of the pure love I have for him as a son the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained give aliened enfeoffed & confirmed & by these presents to grant bargain give alien enfeoff & confirm unto the said Wm. Stout his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of Land lying on butchers Run in the County of Gilmer & State of Virginia & bounded as follows Vez, beginning at a beach on the above named Run or Westerly branch of Ceder Creek S 80 W 42 poles to a Maple N 20 W 56 poles to two sour gums & Chestnuts S 82 W 93 poles to a dogwood S 209 poles to a beach S 55 E 16 poles to beech N 15 E 51 to a beech & birch N 40 E 50 to a White Oak N 68 E 69 poles to a white oak N 24 E 80 poles to the begining with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with all its appurtenances unto the said Wm. Stout his heirs & assigns forever & he the said Hezekiah Stout for him his heirs and assigns in witness whereof the said Hezekiah Stout have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
