Crook, E-mail address: vfcrook @trellis.net unless otherwise noted. *********************************************************************** *********************************************************************** This Indenture made the sic tenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between Alice Bowen of Gallia County in the state of Ohio of the one part and Anthony Bowen of the County of Greenbrier and state of Virginia of the other part witness that the said Alice Bowen for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings lawful money of the state to her the said Alice Bowen in hand will and truly paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge the said Alice Bowen hath granted bargained and sold and by there presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Anthony Bowen his heirs and assigns my part of four tracts of land that I am entitled to by my brother Andrew Hamilton decd two tracts of said land lies on the East side of Greenbrier river one contains five hundred and ninety acres the other contains two hundred and seventy five acres the other two surveys one lies on the Knobs of Spring Creek containing five hundred acres the other on the waters of Culbertsons Creek containing fourty acres with the appurtenances unto the said Anthony Bowen his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Alice Bowen for herself and her heirs, her half of the surveys against her and her heirs and against all and everything person and persons whomsoever to the said Anthony Bowen his heirs and assigns In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date above written.
