W. Baker: Ronceverte-Samuel Wayne Baker, 76, of Ronceverte died Thursday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 2, 1893, at Lilly Dale, he was a son of the late Rufus and Mariah Jones Baker. He had lived in Ronceverte for 65 years, was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte, the Modern Woodsmen, Post No. 26, American Legion in Ronceverte and was a retired clerk in a local store. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Sherwood Baker; two sons, Richard of Billings, Mont. and Wiliam of Baltimore, MD and a grandchild. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte with Rev. Alvin Guyon in charge. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Ronceverte. Friends may call at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte after 5 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
