FLANAGAN SERVICE HELD 79-Year-Old Richlands Resident Buried Wednesday LEWISBURG, Feb. 4 -- Funeral services were conducted from the Richards Calvary Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon for Richard Allen Flanagan, 79, who died of complications at his home near Richlands at 5:30 p. m. Monday. He had survied two paralytic strokes, suffered 15 years ago and had maintained good health until two years ago, when he became and invalid. Flanagan was born at Fayette Station, Sept. 21, 1862. For the past 38 years he had been a resident of the present home, where he had been active as a farmer until he became further afflicted. He was a member of the Lewisburg Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellen Gibson Flanagan, three sons, [illegible] A. Flanagan, Maxwellton; [?] H. Flanagan, Keen Mt, Va.; Vernon A. Flanagan, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Koontz, Fayetteville; Mrs. John P. Bowman, Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Wilbur A. Flanagan, Meadow Bridge; Elbert H. Flanagan, Owensboro, Ky., and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Walkup, Meadow Bridge, and Miss Laura Flanagan, Huntington.
