He was affectionately known and called "Chief FORREN" by his fellow townsmen after his long service as chief of police of White Sulphur Springs. Recently he had been anb inactive constable for the district. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie NEAL FORREN; three daughters, Mrs. R. P. WINALL, Longacre, Mrs. H. C. TURNER of Pocatello, Idaho, Mrs. James BARBERY of White Sulphur Springs; three sons, Harry D. and Forrest M. FORREN of Dayton, Ohio, and John E. FORREN, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs; two step-daughters, Miss Stella EARY of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Louise DICKSON of Mobile, Ala.; five sisters, Mrs. Betty STEVENS of Allen, Kansas, Mrs. Frank FLACK of Neosha Rapids, Kansas, Mrs. Amanda HARRAH of Victor, Dr. M. B. FORD of Lewisburg, Mrs. Fanny KIDWELL of Silver Springs, Md.; three brothers, J. D. FORREN of Allen, Kansas, J. M. and Frank FORREN of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-grandaughter. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Shanklin Funeral Chapel at White Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Alvin C. YOUNG officiating.
