Crook, February 1998 SAM'L T. FORREN - We regret to announce the death of Samuel T. FORREN, which occurred at his home near Lewisburg at 9:30 o'clock last Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 1909, after an illness of three months, of Bright's disease and heart failure. He was a native of Monroe county and lived near Union until 4 years ago when he moved to Greenbrier county. Mr. FORREN was 58 years of age April 11 last. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and a kindly, industrious man whose old friends are saddened by his death. His first wife died years ago, leaving one daughter, now Mrs. Fred PORTERFIELD of Cary. His second wife was before her marriage Miss Martha Agnes BROWN of this county. She and 13 children survive him, the latter being Mr. Everett FORREN of Union, Elmer, Guy, Lonnie, Etta, Glenna, Nellie, Gertrude, Carrie, Marshall, Dollie, Evie and Harry FORREN of Greenbrier county. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dr. M. L. LACY last Sunday afternoon, and at 3:30 o'clock the remains of the deceased were interred in the SMITH graveyard near Lewisburg, a large congregation being present. Source: THE MONROE CO.
