Edward Green, born in Ronceverte, Greenbrier Co., WV, died in Buena Vista,
Rockbridge Co., VA.

OBIT:   Greene, Edward Thomas, 78, of Buena Vista, died Monday 
November 28, 1994, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.  He was born March 
1, 1916 in West Virginia, son of the late Virgil Layton Greene and 
Catherine Hanifan Greene.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, 
William Keith Slough. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church 
in Lexington.  Mr. Greene retired from Va. Power Co. after 23 years 
service.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of 
Electrical Workers.  Surviving are his wife, Mary Weakly Greene; one 
daughter, Mary Jo-Ann Greene Slough,  Buena Vista; three grandsons, 
Richard Thomas Slough, Buena Vista, David Michael Slough, Rockbridge 
Baths, and Daniel Eugene Slough, Buena Vista; one sister, Ila Frances 
Greene, Buena Vista; and nine great grandchildren.  Funeral services 
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts 
Funeral Chapel, with Father Biber officiating. Burial will follow in 
Green Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. 
Tuesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service in Buena Vista.
