Wise Green, an old and well known resident of East Ronceverte, departed this life on Sunday morning, April 14, 1918, at about three o'clock, after a lingering illness of cancer. He had been afflicted for a number of years, and about nine months ago became confined to his bed. He bore his affliction and suffering patiently and often expressed his wilingness to die. Church, South, many years ago and lived a consistent Christian life. He was 56 years, ten months and eight days old, was born in Rockbridge County, VA but spent the greater part of his life in Ronceverte. Besides his wife and one adopted son, he leaves six sisters, three brothers and a host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. T. A. burch, assisted by Rev. D. S. Pooser, of the Christian Church, and Rev. H. B. Stoneham, of the First Baptist church. The pall bearers were Messrs. L. B. Brackman, J. B. Dean, Andrew J.
