J. Newton Jackson:  J. Newton Jackson, 76 years old, a pioneer 
resident of Ronceverte, died at his home in West Ronceverte Sunday 
night, March 6, 1938 following an illness of several weeks of heart 
disease.  In the early days of this city, Mr. Jackson was an employee 
of the St. Lawrence Boom and Manufacturing Co., and for several years 
past has operated a general store in the west end.  He is survived by 
his widow, formerly Miss Hoover, and three daughters, Mrs. Fred Beard, 
Mrs. Ernest Dolan and Mrs. Chester Burr, all of Ronceverte.  Funeral 
services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by 
Rev.-------, and burial was in Riverview cemetery.
