Mrs. Amanda S. JEFFRIES died at her home in Ronceverte on Aug. 9, 
1908, after a long illness, aged nearly 74 years.  She was a daughter 
of the late Abrham HESS and was born near Nickells Mills, Monroe 
county.  For 20 years she had been a resident of Ronceverte.  Mrs. 
JEFFRIES was a member of the M. E. Church South.  She is survived by 
three children - Miss Annie E., Mr. Frank JEFFRIES of Ronceverte, and 
Mr. A. L. JEFFRIES of Lowmoor, Va.
