Father killed by Indians when he was a boy & mother died about same time, leaving him an orphan. Taken by some relatives to Boon or Rock Station KY in which State he lived until 1806 when in company with Johnny Campbell & others moved to Alexandria, DeKalb County, in this State. Mr. Peppers married in Alexandria in 1806 & in the fall or winter moved to this county & settled upon the place where he recently died. Not in good health for 40 years & 12 years on crutches. Comment: Elisha Pepper II was born in March of 1777 in Greenbriar Co., West VA to Elisha Pepper I. His mother may have been a BUTCHER. Believe name may connect to one John PIPER on Greenbriar census.
