Brown: a son of Richard Brown Sr., was born in now Hancock County, West Virginia, in 1805. He followed farming and trading on the Ohio River as his vocations. He was married in December 1832 to Miss Ann Myler. They settled on the farm where he is now living. They reared a family of nine children -- four sons and five daughters, one of the daughters is deceased. His wife died in April 1865.
