Biographical Sketches of Hancock County: Edward Campbell: was born in Ireland in 1827. He emigrated to America in 1848, landing in New York, thence to Philadelphia, where he remained four years. In 1852, he came to New Cumberland, and married Esther Herron in 1854. They settled in Monroe County, Ohio, where they remained two years, then returned to Hancock County, West Virginia, purchased the farm on which they are now living, containing 143 acres, and has followed farming as his vocation since that time. Their union resulted in four children, two sons and two daughters. The sons are deceased.
