Dixon: was born in Jefferson County, Ohio, April 27, 1852. He was brought up on a farm; received his education at common and graded schools; moved to Hancock County, West Virginia in the spring of 1867; worked two years in the pottery at the Black Horse Works, and nine years for Shane in the fire brick business, and at present is a partner in the Black Diamond fire brick works. He married Emma Hunter in 1877. Their union has resulted in one child.
