Biographical Sketches of Hancock County: William Hamilton: was born in Ireland in 1835. He came to America in 1854, and located at Freeman's Landing, Hancock County, West Virginia in 1855. Married Mary E. Grimes in 1856. They settled in New Cumberland in 1870, where they are now living. They have a family of seven children -- five sons and two daughters. He is foreman of yard No. 2, at the Clifton Works, and has held that position for eight years.
