Biographical Sketches of Hancock County: Alexander Scott: born in the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania. He removed to now Hancock County, West Virginia, in 1802, and located on a farm one mile northwest of Fairview. He was the father of seven children--four sons and three daughters. Principally engaged in farming. In 1812 he breathed his last. His wife survived him but a few years. His family are all dead, save two--one living in Hancock County, West Virginia, and the other in Meigs County, Ohio.
