She was born in Tyler County, W. Va., July 17, 1892, a daughter of the late George Wesley Phillips and Martha Cornell Phillips. She had resided here for 55 years. She was a member of the Newell Church of Christ. She leaves six daughters, Mrs. James (Myrtle) Moore of New Cumberland, Mrs. Denver (Velma) Bachus and Mrs. Brady (Verna) Walker, both of Congo, Mrs. A. A. (Ernestine) Baumgarner of Glenmoor, Mrs. Earl (Martha) Souder of Lisbon, and Mrs. James (Betty) Smoot of ?, Ohio; a son, Edward Charles Brown Jr. of Newell; a sister, Mrs. Zula Miller of Chester; a brother, Ernest Phillips of Deltona, Fla., 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Her husband died Feb. 7, 1960. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the East Liverpool Arner Home for Funerals. Burial will be in Unon Cemetery, Pughtown. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday and Sunday.
