CHRISMAN CEMETERIES, Hardy County Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives January 20, 2002 by James Funkhouser ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The first of these cemeteries is located on the Biller farm, one mile north of the junction of State Route 259 and the Lower Cove road at Lost City, W. Va. The cemetery is approximately one-quarter mile east of the Biller house, just inside the George Washington National Forest. The second is located at Lost City, about 250-300 feet north of Lower Cove road and northeast of the Presbyterian Church, on a point that overlooks the Lost River Valley. At the time of this transcription, it contained nine graves with headstones and many graves unmarked or marked with field stones. Some of these reportedly are slave graves. These inscriptions were transcribed in July 1968. =============================================================== Chrisman (1) ISAAC CHRISMAN DIED June 12, 1884 AGED 73 yrs, 8 mos, & 6 d's Dearest father thou hast left us, Here; thy loss we deeply feel.
