Staggs, J72060@HardyNet.com, June 2000 FUNKHOUSER FAMILY CEMETERY ON GROVER SMITH ROAD, BAKER, HARDY COUNTY, WV. There are eleven graves in this cemetery, It is fairly well kept with a freshly painted chain link fence around it. 1) Syrum Funkhouser 1839- Civil War died of wounds 2) Mary Link Funkhouser 1813- 1877 3) Thomas Funkhouser 1846- 1886 died of Diptheria 4)Henry Funkhouser 1807- 1891 5) Riley Funkhouser’s baby 6) Riley Funkhouser 1881-1905 7) James Funkhouser 1836-1912 8) Anthony Funkhouser 1838-1927 9) Eli Funkhouser 1853-1936 10) Caroline S. Funkhouser 1858-1954 11) Roy B. Funkhouser 1898-1980 Graves #’s 9 & 10 were a married couple they have a double headstone and a double footstone. It looks as if the monument that is at the foot was moved from the head to make room for a much newer monument. Also I know from family info that Henry and Mary were husband and wife, they were my ggggrandparents, Anthony, Eli, Thomas, & Syrum were their sons, Anthony was my gggrandfather.. Roy B. was the son of Eli. Information taken on June 1, 2000 by: James V. Staggs RR1 Box 119-1A Mathias Wv. 26812 E-mail J72060@HardyNet.com
