EPLEY THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, March 20, 1996 The funeral for Shirley B. Epley, 70, E. Springbrook Road, Broadway was held Saturday at Timberville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Bernard Fuska conducted the service. Burial was in the Timberville Cemetery. Mrs. Epley died March 12, 1996, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. She was born June 22, 1925 in Hardy County WV and was a daughter of the late Moses P. and Jessie Mae Wilkins Teets. She was a cook at Broadway Quick Lunch and a member of the Timberville Church of the Brethren. Survivors include her husband, Joseph C. Epley; four sons, Lawrence Wilt and Gene Wilt, both of Bergton, David Wilt, Fair Play, S.C., and Gary Wilt, Strasburg; two stepdaughters, Wanda Hartman, Harrisonburg and Debbie Giddens, Clearwater, Fla; two brothers, Orville Teets, Miami, Okla. and Harlan Teets, Fairfax; 16 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Broadway Emergency Squad or the Timberville Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund, PO Box AP, Timberville, VA 22853. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. ********************************************* EMORY R. "JAKE" EVANS THE MOOREFIELD (WV) EXAMINER, Wednesday, October 15, 1997 Emory R. "Jake" Evans, age 69, of Phoenix, Arizona and formerly of Petersburg, WV, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at a hospital in Phoenix. Born November 17, 1927 in Hardy County and was the son of the late Ruben Evans and Myrtle (Rumer) Evans. Mr. Evans was retired from the US Air Force. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Ida Hardy and four brothers, Lantz, Bennie, George and Harry Evans. Surviving are his wife, Arlene (Shunk) Evans; two daughters, Brenda Byasee and Roxanne Shamblin, both of Avondale, Arizona; one son, Rodney Evans of Prescott, Arizona; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul L. Evans of Petersburg, WV; two sisters, Nellie Barr of Arlington, VA and Mary Jane Jackson of Kingwood, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial were held Thursday at the Tucker Funeral Home in Goodyear, Arizona. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tucker Funeral Home, Goodyear, Arizona.
