The following Harrison County, West Virginia deeds were abstracted 
because they indicate the relationship of the parties ( i.e., 
a parent/child or sibling relationship),reveal a former marriage or 
a maiden name, or indicate that a person was deceased.  This list 
does not contain every deed among parties sharing the same last name; 
only those where the relationship is stated or evident (e.g., because 
the property is transferred for "love and affection").

18 Aug 1785.  Daniel & Prudence DAVISSON, sold to Isaac Washburn, 
heir at law to Charles Washburn, for 3 pounds, lot no. 11 in 
Clarksburg. Recorded Apr. 1786.  

16 Dec 1787.  Andrew & Elizabeth DAVISSON, of Harrison co., VA, sold 
to Enoch BETTS, of same, for 80 pounds, 32 acres on Elk Creek, on east 
side of lands of the heirs of Basel WILLIAMS, opposite Daniel 
DAVISSON's lands. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 1, p. 51.)

16 Apr 1787.  Thomas & Sarah BARTLETT, of Harrison co., VA, sold to 
Robert BARTLETT, their son, of same, for 5 pounds, 200 acres on 
Westfork of Monongalia.  (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 1, p.61.)

21 May 1788.  Esther PHILLIPS, of Loudon co., VA, sold to Thomas 
Phillips of same, 250 acres granted by patent to James McHANY 4 
May 1787 and by deed to said Philips 1788.  Witnesses: Jesse SEYBOLD, 
Rhoda PHILLIPS, Thomas PHILLIPS, son of Reace, and Daniel PHILLIPS.

16 Apr 1792.  Isaac DAVISSON granted to Jonah DAVISSON, both of 
Harrison co., VA, for love and affection, 323 acres on westfork of 
Monongalia River, above the mouth of Geese Run, corner to Josiah 
DAVISSON. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 1, p. 250.)

21 Jan 1793.  Daniel CAIN appoints his son Arnold CAIN, both of
Harrison co., VA, to ask of William SIMMS and John REY of Albemarle 
co., VA, executors of his deceased father's estate, Nicholas CAIN, 
for that which is due him. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 1, p. 273.)

19 Nov 1793.  Christina WIREMAN, trader of Bucks co., PA, sold to 
Henry SCHLEIGH, son of John SCHLEIGH, of Frederick, Federick co., 
Maryland for friendship, 200 acres, corner to Doctor LAY, patent 
to Samuel YOUNG, 8 July 1786.  Recorded Feb. 1794.  (Harrison co.,

17 April 1793.  Thomas & Sarah WEBB, of Harrison co., VA to the 
heirs of Benjamin STOUT, deceased, of Hunterdon co., NJ, for 50 
pounds, 180 acres on Broad Camp Run. Recorded April 1794.

15 Oct 1792.  Josiah & Martha DAVISSON of Harrison co., VA, sold 
to the heirs of JAMES PRINGLE, deceased, of Hardy co., VA, for 
40 pounds, 120 acres on the line between Jonathan COBIN and DAVISSON.

17 Nov. 1793.  Jonathan & Hannah STOUT of Harrison co., VA, granted 
to Abner STOUT, his son-in-law, of Pennsylvania, for 100 pounds, 
300 acres on the west side of Tygart Valley River. Recorded 
Nov. 1794. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 1, p. 480.)  [Note next 
recorded deed is a sale by Jonathan & Hannah to Daniel Stout of 
200 acres for $200.]

21 Apr 1794.  Godfrey BUMGARDNER of Harrison co., VA, granted to 
Jacob BUMGARDNER, son of said Godfrey, for love and consideration,

3 June 1784.  Catharine RIFFLE, daughter of Francis RIFFLE,

6 Aug. 1784.  Jane RALSTON, wife of James RALSTON, deceased, appoints

27 Mar 1779.  Nancy PRICE states to Valentine and Catherine STALNAKER 
that Catherine was not guilty of bringing a bastard child into the

19 July 1784.  Thomas WEBB settled with Benjamin WEBB in behalf of 
the estate of his father deceased.  Wit: John GOODWIN, David WALMSLEY.
