The following Harrison county, West Virginia deeds were abstracted 
because they indicate about the relationship of the parties, i.e., 
a parent/child or sibling relationship; reveal a former
marriage or a maiden name or indicate that a person was deceased.  
This list does not contain every deed among parties sharing the 
same last name; only those where the relationship is stated or evident 
(e.g., because the property is transferred for "love and affection").


20 Aug 1795.  James NEAL, of Harrison co., VA granted to the heirs of 
William CHAPMAN of same, for 100 pounds, 18 acres on the Little Kanawha 
River. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 2, p. 13.)

26 Oct 1795.  W. HAYMOND and Joseph DAVIS met on the land of William 
JOHNSON, deceased and laid out for Elizabeth JOHNSON, his widow, her 
right of Dower. (Harrison co., WV Deed Book 2, p. 21.)

12 Feb 1794.  Susanna BLIZARD of Saint Mary Annex, London, England, 
sister and heir of Thomas BENTLEY, of Kankaskias, Illinois), grants
power of attorney to James McGILL of Montreal, Canada, Andrew TODD, 
of same, and John BLACKWOOD SR of Quebec, Canada. (Harrison co., 
WV Deed Book 2, p. 23.)

2 May 1795.  Susanna BLIZARD, of London, England, through her attorney, 
Joseph HOWARD, of Montreal, Canada, grants to Jeremiah VAN RENSSELAER     
and James CALDWELL, of Albany, New York, 50 tracts of land ... will of 
Thomas BENTLEY, 28 Feb 1781, adjoining John GIBSON & Samuel JONES
. . . Patrick LANGAN on behalf of said VAN RENSSALAER and CALDWELL ...

laid out the right of Dower lands for Martha RICHARDS, widow of  Arnold

8 Dec 1794.  William HOPKINS, of New Kent co., VA, granted to his 
daughter Fanny LACY wife of Thomas B. LACY for love and consideration, 
a mulatto girl named Helvia. Wit: George JACKSON, Charlotte BASCHURST.

20 May 1795.  James NEAL, of Harrison co., VA sold to the heirs of 
Hezekiah DAVISSON, for 50 pounds, 352 acres on a left hand fork of 
Ten Mile Creek at the mouth of Turkey Run, corner to John READ.

17 Aug 1795.  Ann DAVISSON, George JACKSON and William MARTIN, 
executors to the estate of Hezekiah DAVISSON deceased, sold to 
Sylvester WELCH of Hampshire co., VA, for 40 pounds, 270 acres on 
Flag Run, adjoining William BARTLETT and George JACKSON.

15 June 1795.  Joseph & Ann HASTINGS, of Harrison co., VA, grant to 
Josiah DAVISSON, of same, son of Obediah DAVISSON, for 100 pounds, 
200 acres on Elihua Run, drain of Brushy Fork of Elk Creek, part of 
400 acres said Hastings purchased of William MARTIN, corner to George

26 Apr 1793.  Elizabeth MOCK, widow of Samuel BONNETT, receives her 
right of Dower, 400 acres divided into three euqal tracts.

9 Sept. 1795.  Christopher CARPENTER, of Jefferson co., Kentucky, gives 
power of attorney to his son Nicholas CARPENTER, of Harrison co., VA.

property by Christopher & Sarah Carpenter by Nicholas Carpenter of 200 
acres on Limestone Creek, a branch of Westfork River, beginning at a run
that emptied into Stone Coal Lick.]

13 Jan 1796.  Samuel & Margaret FITZ RANDOLPH, of Harrison co., VA grant
to the heirs of Jacob DAVIS, Elder, deceased, of same, for one pound, 
fifteen shillings and nine pence, lots: 6, 7, 2, 13 and 29 in New Salem.
