Submitted 1998 by Patt Seitas ************************************************************************** Harrison County, WV RADCLIFF/STOUT Deed - 1797 Deed Book 3, page 104 (Deed) JOHN RADCLIFF to HEZEKIAH STOUT THIS INDENTURE mad [sic] this twenty second day of February one thousand seven hundred and Ninety seven Between John Radcliff & Judith his wife of the County of Harrison and State of Virginia of the one part and Hezekiah Stout of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the Sd. [sic] John Radcliff & Judith his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars Current money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof the [sic] do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold Released enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these presents do grant Bargain sell Release enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land Lying and being in the County of Harrison and State aforesaid Situate ont he waters of Hackers Creek a branch of the West Fork and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at a blackoak William Powerses Corner and Running thence along his line North Eighty one poles to a poplar thence South seventy two degrees West 82 poles to the sourwood on the bank of Hackers Creek thence up the same with its meaners 305 poles to a gun on another of Poweres Lines thence East 126 poles along the last mentioned Line tothe beginning Containing sixty two and a half acres together with all its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Radcliff & Judith his wife for themselves and their heirs &c do covenant that they will forever warrant and defend the said tract or pracel of Land unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns forever against any Person or Persons whatsoever Claiming any Right or title thereto. In Witness whereof they the said John Radcliff & Judith his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed theirseals the day & year first above written. This Indenture from John Radcliff to Hezekiah Stout was proven by the Oath of Daniel Davisson Sylvester Lyon & John Radcliff Witness [sic] thereto for 62 1/2 acres and it is ordered to be Recorded.
