Submitted 1998 by Patt Seitas ************************************************************************** Harrison County, West Virginia - Wolf & Hickman/Stout Deed - 1809 Deed Book 6, p. 365 WOLF & HICKMAN to HEZEKIAH STOUT This indenture made the nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine between John Wolf and Elizabeth his wife and Adam Hickman and Margaret his wife of the County of Harrison and State of Virginia of the one part and Hezekiah Stout of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that they the said John Wolf and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Hezekiah Stout a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Harrison Situate on Elk Creek being part of a tract of two hundred and seventy four acres granted by patent to the said John Wolf and bounded as followeth to wit beginning at a white oak corner to the original tract and running thence by two lines of the same North 41 degrees West 89 poles crossing the creek to the blackoak North 35 degrees east 36 poles to a gum dogwood and three sour woods on the bank of the creek thence up the same with its meanders 92 poles to a whiteoak thence south 31 degrees east 36 poles crossing the creek to a chestnut and two red oaks on a line of the original tract thence by said line South 65 degrees west 59 poles to the beginning Containing thirty seven acres and three quarters of an acre and they the said Adam Hickman, Senr. and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of nine dollars and 83 cents to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Hezekiah Stout another certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Harrison Situate on the easterly side of Elk Creek and bounded as followeth Towit, Begining [sic] at a whiteoak corner to the tract of thirty seven and three quarter acers [sic] aforesaid and runing [sic] thence by a line of the same North 43 degrees west 36 poles to a beech & dogwood on the bank of the said Creek thence up the same with the meanders thereof 58 poles to a hickory ash and two red buds thence North 6 degrees east 13 poles to the begining [sic] containing two acres three quarters of an acre and thirty one square poles together with all profits and comoddities [sic] thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining with all their appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all their [sic] appurtenances unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns forever, and they the said John Wolf and Elizabeth his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant that they will that they will [sic] forever and defend the said tract of thirty seven acres and three quarters of an acre of land unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns and they the said Adam Hickman Senr. and Margaret his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant that they will forever warrant and defend the ad. [sic] tract of two acres three quarters of an acre and thirty one square poles of land unto the said Hezekiah Stout his heirs and assigns.
