THIS RECORD WAS DONATED TO THE HARRISON COUNTY WVGenWeb PROJECT/ARCHIVES ONLY: www.rootsweb.com/~wvharris ********************************************************************** Thomas Chapman to James Warren and Archibald Warren, 1811 Transcribed and submitted by: Cathy Warren Thomas Chapman To / / Deed James & Archibald Warren THIS INDENTURE made this twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between Thomas Chapman and Sarah his wife of the County of Harrison & State of Virginia of the one part and James Warren and Archibald Warren of the County of Lancaster and State of Pensylvania of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Thomas Chapman and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff releas_ and confirm to the said James Warren and Archibald Warren their heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Harrison and State of Virginia situate on te North side of Davissons Run adjoining land of Thomas Berkeleys & Thomas McCan_ and bounded as followeth towit Beginning at a Black Walnut at the mouth of said Run and running thence down the west fork river with its meanders sixty six poles to a white oak and two sugar trees thence N 53º W 82 poles to a Black oak then N 10º E 120 poles to a white oak N 48 W 141 poles to a hickory S 36 W 46 to a White Oak S 75 W 120 poles to a poplar S 5 W 60 poles S 86 E 72 poles to a hickory S 10 E 180 poles to two sugar trees at the mouth of Plump Stone run where it emties into Davissons run thence down said Davissons run N 60º E 24 poles to a white oak S 78 E 14 poles S 6 E 28 poles S 48 E 22 poles S25 E 46 poles _ 40 E 32 _ N 42 E 32 poles to a White oak N 54 E 13 polies N 25 E 30 poles N 56 E 10 poles to Red Oak opposite the old saw mill S 80 E 50_ to the Beginning containing three hundred and fifty four acres it being the same tract or parcel of land that was conveyed by Obadiah Davisson Junior to said Thomas Chapman by deed bearing date the 19th day of July 1806 to have and to hold the above described tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said James Warren & Archibald Warren their heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said James Warren & Archibald Warren their heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Chapman and Sarah his wife for themselves their heirs &c do hereby covenant to and with the said James Warren & Archibald Warren their heirs and assigns that they the said Thomas Chapman and Sarah his wife the above described tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said James Warren and Archibald Warren their heirs & assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons and claims whatsoever.
