RUSSELL FLYNN Mrs. Alma Mae Flynn, 78, a resident of 302 Lincoln St., died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 25, 1903, in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Clara Groff Swaney. On April 10, 1923, she married Russell S. (Pappy) Flynn, who preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1980. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Donald H. (Joanne) Mahlke, Wheeling; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Sue Bolton Flynn, Algonquin, Ill.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son, Russell Flynn Jr., and one brother, Gilbert Swaney, preceded her in death. Mrs. Flynn was a member of the United Methodist Temple Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. They had been united in marriage on April 10, 1923. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Donald H. (Joanne) Mahkle, Wheeling, WV, a daughter-in- law, Mrs. Mary Sue Bolton Flynn, Algonquin, IL., ten grandchildren; Carol Erb, Susan Hamilton, Donald Mahlke, Jr., Cheryl Scordato, Debbie Lange, Stephen Flynn, Dianne Schocker, Linda Flynn, Susan Flynn and Michael Flynn and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by a son Russell Flynn, Jr., and by a brother Gilbert Swaney. She was a member of the United Methodist Temple Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main Street, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, Wednesday, where funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Dewayne R. Lowther will conduct the service. Intement (sic) in Bridgeport Cemetery.
