The Church and cemetery are not visible from RT87. The driveway, or entrance road, is clearly marked, and is on the NE side of the road. About 1 to 2 miles from the entrance, in both directions, are the typical roadside church signs. They are not large, and easily missed, due to size and shrubs. The church is well maintained, as are the grounds. I have pictures, which were taken hurriedly, as we were leaving, and can send them on request. Also have pictures of Hughes tombstones, taken as we walked, which should be online by late this month of August. The Grave site information was copied August 11, 2000. An effort was made to be as accurate as possible. Conditions were not Ideal, and any errors are accidental. (90 degrees, very humid, no clouds, and those BLASTED BUGS) Due to the time I don't have available, the names are as we wrote them, and not in any order. Legend: Names grouped togather are on the same stone. Obviously, names separated are separate stones. Where we felt it needed, notes are added to explain the entry. ************************************************************************************************* From Elizabeth Love (possumjimandelizabeth@gmail.com): Creston Cemetery is located on Rt 87 between Ripley and Point Pleasant WV. The nearest town of any size is Evans and therefore the mailing address will be Creston Cemetery, Evans. This is a Mason County cemetery and is inside the county line by at least two miles. --- It is a beautiful rural cemetery and quite large with many many burials from Jackson County. It is a valuable addition to your Jackson County list as a resource. ************************************************************************************************* HUGHES PHYLLIS L.
