Farmer's Repository April 4, 1816
    "Jefferson Cavalry ---Attention!
    YOU are ordered to meet at Hall's Mill, on the third Saturday, (the 20th 
inst.) in complete uniform, for the purpose of training and drawing side arms --
 The roll wil be called at half past 11 o'clock, A.M. and all absentees noted.
    In times of peace, the only reward a well regulated volunteer corps can 
expect, is, the approbation of military men; this the Jefferson Troop have 
obtained for themselves, by their soldier-like conduct, and appearance, last 
summer, and by a corresponding disposition to do their duty the next summer, 
the troop may be much improved, not only in appearance but discipline.
    It is with much regret the Captain is compelled by his duty as an officer, 
to protest against the members of the Troop wearing any part of their uniform 
at ordinary times; when such a practice is tolerated, it never fails to destroy 
a uniformed company of Militia.  If there are any members of the Troop who do 
not find it convenient to keep their uniform exclusively for parade days, it is 
recommended to them to withdraw, and enroll themselves in the ordinary militia; 
by doing so, it may prevent the disagreeable necessity of erasing their names 
from the roll, and reporting them to the officer commanding the district, in 
which they may reside.

    "Light Infantry -- Attention!
    The Company commanded by the subscriber, is ordered to parade on the third 
Saturday in April, (instant) before the door of Anderson tavern, precisely at 3 
o'clock, P.M.  Punctuality in attendances will be expected.
Z. BUCKMASTER, Capt.
Charles Town, April 4th."

    "Company Orders.
The Company under my Command is ordered to parade at Mills grove, (the usual 
place) on the second Saturday in this month, at 11 o'clock A.M. -- at the 
regimental muster in May, the second Saturday in June, August, September, and 
October.  All those who have not enrolled themselves will please come forward 
and enroll themselves on the first day of muster.

April 4."
