WILLIAM Cook PROWS Kanawha Co. WV Az Pioneer Bios William Prows was born at Upper Kanawha Valley, Kanawha County West Virignia, June 11, 1827. He was a son of Thomas( b. June 11, 1827, Kanawha Co. WV, d. May 23, 1894 at Juarez, Mexico) and Eleanor Kouns( b. Jan 4, 1802 in Mason Co. WV, d. Oct 2, 1842, Nauvo, Hancock, Ill). William married Lodeskey Ann Roberds (b. July 28, 1835 in Monroe, Ms; d. Sept. 2, 1922) at Sevier, Ut. Children were: Mary Elizabeth Prows, B. Jan 5, 1868, D. 2/14/1868; Hyrum, b. Jan 27, 1866 d. Sept 27, 1947; Ladeskey lovina, b. feb 28, 1872, d. Aug 5, 1938; Martha Ellen, b. Mar 14, 1862, d. feb 4, 1889; Joseph, b. april 24, 1857 d. May 21, 1917; Sarah Elmira, b. June 7, 1873, d. Aug 3, 1936; George Granklin, b. June 18, 1876, d. Jan 5, 1882; William Reform, b. July 2, 1855, d. Nov. 18, 1857; Margaret Annie, b. July 23, 1869, d. jul 24, 1946; Francis Marion, b. Sept. 20, 1860, d. Jan 22, 1863 and john Thomas, b. Nov. 12, 1853, d. March 8, 1930. William Prows enlisted July 16, 1846 at Council Bluffs as a Private, Captain J.D. Hunter's Company B., Mormon Battalion, marched across southern Arizona and was honorably discharged at Los Angeles, July 16, 1847. He returned to Arizona and lived for a time at Mesa. He died at Colonia, Juarez, Mexico, May 23, 1894, aged 66.
