Charleston Gazette Newspaper
Grover H. Pauley, 77, of 17 Reynolds Ave., Elkview, died June 5, 1988, in 
Morris Memorial Nursing Home, Milton, after a long illness. He was a lifelong 
resident of Kanawha County and was a member of Charleston Seventh-day 
Adventist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired 
teacher and principal of Big Chimney Elementary School with 36 years' service. 
He was a graduate of Morris Harvey College and held a master's degree from 
West Virginia University. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association 
and National Education Association. Surviving: wife, Ruby Cobb Pauley; son, 
Gwain of Barboursville; brother, Clarous of Charleston; sisters, Mrs. Gladis 
Baxter and Mrs. Delmer Gwinn, both of Charleston, Mrs. Lahoma Fierbaugh of 
South Charleston, Mrs. Clara Cromm [Croom] of Tucson, Mrs. Edana Hamilton of 
Lompoc, Calif., and Mrs. Golda Kendall of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren; 
three great-gfrandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hafer Funeral 
Home, Elkview, with the Rev. John Oddie and the Rev. Cue Young officiating. 
Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park Big Chimney. Friends may call from 7 
to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
