He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMW. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Gauley Bridge VFW. Surviving: brothers, R.D. of St. Albans, Riley of Gallipolis Ferry, Sherman Jr. of Pontiac, Mich., Carl Franklin of Lewisville, Texas; sisters, Ada Green of Traverse City, Mich., Elizabeth Hanna of Charleston, Joyce Teague of Rochester, Mich. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Paul Cogar officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.|ZFriends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Fred was my father but unfortuately we did not know each other very well.
