Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye, that in Conformity with a Survey made on the fourteenth day of May 1818; by virtue of a Land Office treasury warrant Number 5355 issued the 16th February 1815, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Daniel Stout A Certain tract or parcel of Land, Containing Fifty acres Situate in the County of Lewis on Cedar Creek waters of the Little Kenhawa and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a black walnut tree at the mouth of Butcher's Camp run and running thence South seventy three degrees East forty poles to a buckeye tree, thence up said creek with the meanders thereof eighty two poles to a sycamore tree, thence South nine degrees East thirty six poles to a gum, thence South forty five degrees West fifty poles to two beeches and thence North forty degrees West One hundred and eighty three poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances, to the said Daniel Stout and his heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said Thomas M. Randolph Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty one and of the Commonwealth the forty sixth~ Tho M.
