You can find the cemetery to your left on top of the hill on Rte. 3 to the east of Hamlin. The entrance is about 100 yards before the forks of Rte 3 and Mud River Rd. I have tried to establish an accurate account but as we are human, errors may appear . If anyone who does not have immediate access to the cemetery need additional information I will be happy to assist them as to description of stone and approximate location and epitaphs if inscribed. They are listed from the front to the rear and left and right of centerline. The property was once part of a great amount of land owned by the Powell family. It is my understanding that Great Uncle William owned that portion where the cemetery is located. Compiled and submitted by Timothy S. Adams, descendent of the Powell/Adams line. I now reside in Elko, GA and can be reached by E-Mail at tsadams@alltel.net or at: Timothy S. Eileen Petrie Miller........As per Anna Lou Adams Wade, relative, Eileen is buried in Germany and it was the wish of Bertha to have her name inscribed on the family head stone. Oral history of our family has it that Phillip Powell freed a slave who wished to remain and also asked to buried at the foot of Phillip. So, you will find a stone marker there at the foot of Phillip denoting where he is buried. We have no record of a name. Compiled and edited by Timothy S. Adams for submission to the Lincoln County Genealogical Society.
