August 23, 1917 Bear Creek B.F. Morris of Huntington was a business visitor on the creek the first of the week. The work on the new school building on the lower end of the creek is progressing nicely. Mr.and Mrs. B. L. Butcher, Miss Edith Midkiff and James Holderfield were among those who attended the Sunday School at Nigger Hill Saturday. Chas. Beckett of Mud is visiting relatives on the creek. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Butcher accompanied by Mrs. L. E. Midkiff and daughter Pansy visited their aunt on Mud Sunday. Smith, W.Va. Everett Blankenship of One Mile and Bertha Harvey were united in marriage last Thursday at the home of the bride.
