Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 5, 1982, at Two o'clock PM., at the Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.V., with Rev. Emil Parker officiating. Interment in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.V. He was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School, a veteran of the US Air Force in the Korean Conflict, and was a pipefitter. Surviving are: his Parents, Romie and Opal Pridemore Bias; 2 Daughters: Deborah Friberg, and Kathleen Bias; 1 Brother, Larry Bias; 1 Sister, Carolyn Perry; and 1 Granddaughter Ileah Friberg ********** Flossie M. BIAS WEST HAMLIN-Flossie M. Bias, 82 of West Hamlin, died June 25 in St. Maryıs Hospital. She was born Jan 3, 1911, in Sheridan, WV., the daughter of the late Lucian and Anna Hayes Midkiff. She was a retired teacher of 44 years for the Lincoln County Board of Education. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the West Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxillary and the West Hamlin United Methodist Church. She was a devoted mother, wife and teacher. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willie D. Bias; one son and daughter-in-law, William K and Sonia Bias of Texas City, Texas; one daughter, Delois Preston of Huntington; one brother, Donald Gene Midkiff of West Hamlin; one sister, Jewell Midkiff, also of West Hamlin; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McGhee-Handley Funeral home, West Hamlin, WV. Burial was in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. ********** MR CROSBEY E. BIAS CLAIMED BY DEATH Was Known Farmer of West Hamlin Route 1, And A Son Of The Late Sheriff Dan Bias Crosby E. Bias, fifty-three years old of West Hamlin, Route 1, who died Tuesday night of last week at his home, was buried Friday at 2:30 P.M. in Lincoln Memorial Park following funeral services at the West Hamlin Baptist Church, with the Rev. R. P. Isaacs officiating. Mr Bias was an excellent farmer citizen and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a son of the late Sheriff Dan Bias, and spent most of his life on a farm on Buffalo Creek, near Hamlin. Surviving are the widow: Mrs. Eva Johnson Bias; five sons, C. J. Bias of Huntington, Forest Bias of Hamlin, Dorsey and Calvin Bias of the U. S. Army, and Crosby Bias Jr, at home; six daughters Mrs. Oneida Bias of Huntington, Mrs. Juanita Hodge of Culloden and Misses Glennith , Jessie, Doris and Dendandalee Bias, all of West Hamlin; six brothers, Ross, Charley, Otis, Chancey, mack and Shelby Bias, all of West Hamlin; a sister, Mrs. Queen Sikes of Huntington, and four grandchildren. ********** CHAUNCEY BIAS Born December 14, 1892 died December 4, 1976. Age 83 yrs. 11 months, 20 days. Son of the late Daniel and Emily Alford Bias. Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday December 6, 1976, Koontz Funeral home, Hamlin, W.Va. Rev. Roscoe Bias, and Rev. Bobby Burns officiating. Burial in Bias Cemetery, Route 1 West Hamlin, W.Va. Surviving, 1 son Wilford Bias, 3 daughters, Mrs. Nella Mae Pridemore, Mrs. Eloise Kingery, and Mrs. Mildred Johnson. 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. ********** ENNIS BIAS, 86, of Big Buffalo, West Hamlin Route 1, W.Va. went to be with the Lord Friday, May 27, 1994, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, W. Va. He was born May 28, 1997 in West Hamlin, a son of the late Grover C and Rosa Reynolds Bias. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Michael Bias; one son, James Bias, one daughter, Naomi Colan; and three brothers, Joe Bias, Gerald Bias and Leslie Bias. He was a retired coal miner, and a member and deacon of Buffalo Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby P Edwards Bias; two sons, Joseph Bias of West Hamlin and Jerry Bias of Ashton, W. Va.; one daughter, Rose Ramey of Westland, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Rozella Hager of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Grover Bias of Westland and Bernie Bias of Steubenville, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Ward of Westland, Clara Carswell of Michigan and Garnett Vires of Warren, Mich.; thirteen grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, by the Rev. Millard Morrison. Burial will be in Portersville (W.Va.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Koontz Funeral Home. ********** DAVID LEE BIAS, 23, of Route 1, Buffalo Creek, West Hamlin, W.Va., was born Sept. 26, 1969, died nov. 8, 1992. He was a beloved son of Troy Edward and Janet Leigh Justice Bias of the same address. He was a member of the Buffalo Baptist Church, and a graduate of Hamlin High School, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1992, at 11 a.m. at the Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Charles Markin officiating. Burial will be in Bias Cemetery, Route 1, West Hamlin, W.VA. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Joycelyn Bias from Manila in the Philippines; one daughter, April Daleicia Bias of Manila in the Philippines; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene Allen and Amy Bias of Oscoda, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Justice of Delbarton, W.Va.; great-grandmothers, Irma M. Butcher of West Hamlin and Pearl Justice of Delbarton, W.Va.; two nephews, Jason and Andrew Bias; uncles and aunts, Gene Bias, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Justice, Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Justice, Oscar Hernandez, Bridget Gray, Lora Butcher and Anna Lou Butcher; and a special cousin, Jesse Dale Butcher. He was preceded in death by a special uncle, Dale Butcher, and a special cousin, Phillip Butcher. He is survived by many beloved cousins and great-aunts, great-uncles and friends. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. ********** WALTER BURK BIAS Walter Burk Bias, 95, of Wayne, W.Va., died Friday, Oct 9, 1992, at his residence. Funeral sesrvices will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Casey Stinespring. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Wayne. He was born Aug. 23, 1897, in Lincoln County, W.Va., a son of the late William Wesley and Serena Smooth Bias. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a former minister of the United Methodist Church throughout Wayne County and served as treasurer for the Wayne United Methodist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Sansom Bias. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Gay Thayer of Wayne; three granchildren, Cynthia Lee Sharretts of Monkton, Md., Jedffery Scott Thayer, both of Houston, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Sharetts, Adam Sharetts and Jacob Evan Thayer; and several nieces and nephews.
