Giles, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia; To all to whom these presents shall come, Greetings: Know ye, that in conformity with a survey, made on the eighth day of July 1826 by two Land Office Treasury Warrants, to wit 50 acres No. 9007 dated July 8th, 1826 and 10 acres by No. 9022 dated May 4, 1826 there is granted, by the said Commonwealth, unto HENRY FARLEY assignee of THOMAS CHAPMAN, a certain tract or parcel of land, containing sixty acres, situated in the County of Logan on Pigeon Creek a branch of the Tug Fork of Tandy and bounded as followeth, to wit. Beginning at a large beech on the bank of the Creek nearly assunder to the Laurel Fork of Pigeon, thence South 70 degrees East 40 poles to a sugar tree and buckeye on the side of a (?) hill; South 60 degrees East 40 poles to a large beech in a point, South 10 degrees East 53 poles to a beech and sugar tree near a branch due East, 78 poles to a gum and bech on the bank of the branch, thence down the same South 70 degrees East 74 poles to a bech on a point, thence due East 16 poles to a beech on the hill side; South 55 degrees East 170 poles to lynn on the bank of the branch, North 55 degrees East 50 poles to two beeches on the bank of the Creek, thence with the meander of the Crek and binding thereon North 70 degrees 156 poles to a beech in the bank of the Creek and thence North 73 degrees West 170 poles to still with the Creek and binding thereon to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said HENRY FARLEY and his heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said M.B. Giles, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Seven and of the Commonwealth the fifty second.
