Floyd Esquire, Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: TO ALL to whom these Presents shall come -- Greeting: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the eleventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and forth eight, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 16, 840 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Abner Vance a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing twentynine acres, lying and being in the County of Logan on the Right hand fork of Elk Creek of Guyandotte river, & bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at a large poplar and two beeches near the mouth of the Dingess fork thence up said fork S. 10 E. 40 poles to three lynns and sugar ___ on Dingess fork n.36.E.40. poles to two beeches on a point Thence up said right hand fork N. 71. E. 124 poles to a sugar tree S.75.E.98 poles to an ash and beech on a point S. 86. E. 74 poles to two Beeches in a bottom S. 77. E. 66 poles to two beeches on a flat N.10.E. 12 poles to a beech; Thence down said fork N.79.W.68 poles to a beech N.86.W.74 poles to a beech n.75.W.98 poles to a maple and beech S.70.W.68 poles to two sugar trees S.80.W.48 poles to a beech and white oak. S.70.W.40 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to Abner Vance and his heirs forever.
