Wise Esquire, Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whome these presents shall come --- Greeting: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a Survey made on this fourth day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 23571 There as granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Abner Vance a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Eighty acres lying in Logan county on Elk creek of Guyandotte river, and bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at two poplars corner to a survey made for said Vance, thence up a hollow S.20.E.20 poles to a buckeye by a drain, thence down the creek N.59 W.56 poles to two sugar trees on hill side; S.75 W.80 poles to a beech on the side of a point, thence up the McDonald fork S.40 E.54 poles to a hickory and lynn near a field; thence crossing said fork S.15 W.48 poles to a buckeye; thence down said fork N.29 W. __ poles to a sugar tree; N. 85 W. 20 poles to chesnut and ____ ____ on a point, S.15 E.62 poles to a sugar tree and poplar ______ 181 poles to a birch and beech, corner to a survey made for John Cooke Jr.; and with the same up said creek N. 80 E. 70 pole to ____ sugar trees, two buckeyes, two walnuts and lynn N. 40 E. 58 poles to poplar and sugar tree, N.72 E.142 poles to poplar and buckeye S.72 E. 72 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its Abner Vance and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Henry A. Wise Esquire, Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the first day of June in the year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and fifty eight and and of the Commonwealth the eight second.
