     DAVID CAMPBELL, ESQUIRE, Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:
TO ALL TO WHOM these Presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity
with a Survey, made on the 15th day of March 1836 by virtue of Land Office
treasury Warrent No. 12. 311 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Abner Vance Jr.


A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing twenty five acres, situate in Logan
County on the East fork of Harts Creek, bounded as follows
Beginning at a beech near the mouth of the _____ fork, of the
East fork of Hart's Creek, corner of a Survey made for Harvey
Elkins, thence A 71 degrees E 100 poles to a white oak & ____ oak on a 
hill side, S 67 degrees E 56 poles crossing a branch to two white oaks
S 34 degrees E 26 poles to a white oak, by a small _____ S 33 degrees W
12 poles crossing the Creek to a beech N 66 W 44? poles to a
small beech N 85 W  28 poles crossing a branch to a beech
N 59 W 5 poles to a birch & white oak on a hill side
N 70 W 50 poles crossing the Marsh fork to a sugar tree
corner of Harvey Elkins' survey N 17 degrees E 24 poles crossing the
Creek tot he beginning, with its appertenences

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said 
                       Abner Vance Jr.
and his heirs forever.
     IN WITNESS WHEREOF,  the said DAVID CAMPBELL, ESQUIRE, Govenor of
the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the Lesser Seal
of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the 30th day of July 
in the year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and thirty 7 and of the Commonwealth
